Experience the heart of Russia on one of the two very best ships sailing on the Volga River today. Constructed at the renowned Boizenburg Shipyard on the Elbe River in Germany, Viking Surkov and Viking Kirov were part of the 27-ship “302” series, designed to offer visitors the very best Russia cruise ship experience. Viking Surkov was built in 1984 and was fully renovated in 2008; Viking Kirov was built in 1987 and fully renovated in 2009. These ships now carry 210 guests in two 290-square-foot suites and 104 spacious staterooms, all of which meet the latest European standards of comfort and elegance, with all hotel-style beds (except for the two single staterooms) and amenities like 26-inch flat-panel TVs, in-room refrigerators and three open air promenade decks.

Reception/Lobby
The middle deck lobby area is a great place to get information during your journey. Your Program Director’s desk is located here, so that you can easily ask questions or discuss the day’s activities. There is a 24-hour tea and coffee station with a fruit basket and convenient restrooms.
Sun Deck
Enjoy sunshine and fresh air while you take in 360-degree views of the scenery as you sail past the cities, towns and forests of Russia. Stand at the railings or relax in a comfortable deck chair. Some of the seating has a canopy for those who prefer shade. The sun deck is adjacent to the Sky Bar and there is an access way to the bridge.
Restaurant
The restaurant is where all meals are served during your cruise. Because it features panoramic windows, you will not miss any of the scenery while you are dining. It seats all guests at 29 tables which vary in size, accommodating 6, 8 or 10 guests per table. The dining room is open seating, so you are free to sit where you like—a great way to make new friends. The atmosphere is casual but elegant, with high-quality table linens, china, cutlery and glassware.
Sky Bar
This enclosed bar on the sun deck level provides seating at small tables designed to accommodate 2, 4 or 6 guests. A fantastic location for relaxing with friends while enjoying the scenery through panoramic windows.
Panorama Bar
This enclosed bar at the forward end of the upper deck level seats 50 passengers and is an excellent spot for watching the scenery, especially during arrival at one of your exciting destinations.
Library
Located in the heart of the main deck, the library has comfortable seating and excellent reading light. Our ships’ libraries carry approximately 80 books, in various languages but mostly English, and several games such as chess, backgammon and playing cards.
Promenade Decks
The ship features three walk-around, open air promenade decks. You can watch the scenery from every possible vantage point or enjoy a romantic stroll around the ship any time of the day or evening.
Onboard Boutique
Forget to bring something? Looking for a magazine or some gift items? The onboard boutique on the main deck has everything you need to make your voyage comfortable and convenient.
