Days 3 & 4 - St. Petersburg sightseeing and at leisure
This morning our guided sightseeing tour features the Tsar''s WinterPalace, Nevsky Prospekt, St. Isaac''s Cathedral, the statue of Peterthe Great and a visit of the Peter and Paul Fortress. During ourtime in St. Petersburg, we will also enjoy an included visit to theHermitage Museum to see one of the world''s largest and mostvaluable art collections. The Hermitage occupies five magnificentbuildings situated along the embankment of the River Neva, right inthe heart of St. Petersburg. Put together throughout two and a halfcenturies, the Hermitage collections of works of art, which numbersover 3,000,000 items, present the development of world culture andart from the Stone Age to the 20th century. On one of our freeevenings, maybe visit a theater to see a Russian folkloreshow? (Buffet breakfast / Buffet breakfast)
Day 5 - St. Petersburg - Novgorod
This afternoon our journey takes us over the vast Russian plains toancient Novgorod, which was one of the greatest international tradecenters on the Baltic-Volga commercial route which tied northernEurope with Asia as early as in the mid 8th century. On ourarrival, an orientation tour shows us the Kremlin Fort and grounds,the Millennium Monument and St. Sophia''s Cathedral which is theoldest surviving stone structure in Russia dating from 1045. It isrenowned for the famous icon of the 12th century, the Virgin of theSign, which was returned back to the cathedral in 1991 when divineservices were resumed. Tonight we enjoy dinner in ourhotel. Day 6 - Novgorod - Tver - Moscow (3 nights)
This morning after breakfast a scenic drive will bring us to theregion of Tver which was once the capital of a powerful medievalstate and a model provincial town in Imperial Russia. It is locatedat the confluence of the Volga and Tvertsa rivers and we will enjoyour lunch in this region. Then we continue to Klin, once the homeof the great composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. It was here thatthe composer created his famous ballets The Sleeping Beauty and TheNutcracker. Then we journey onto Moscow for our three-night stay.Moscow is the capital and the largest city of Russia and thelargest city in Europe with its metropolitan area ranking among thelargest urban areas in the world. Moscow is the country''spolitical, economic, religious, financial, educational andtransportation center. It is located on the Moskva River and it wasthe capital of the former Soviet Union. The city is now a majoreconomic center and is home to the largest number of billionairesin the world. In 2007,Moscow was named the world''s most expensive city for thesecond year in a row. Tonight we have dinner in our hotel and lookforward to our exploration of this fascinating city over the nexttwo days. (Buffet breakfast / Lunch / Dinner) Hotel: Marriott Tverskaya (3 nights)
Day 7 & 8 - Moscow sightseeing and at leisure
Our featured sightseeing tour shows us Red Square, St. Basil''sdomed cathedral and the Kremlin Walls. Later, enjoy time on yourown to shop or further explore before returning to your hotel.Perhaps in your free time take an excursion to Zagorsk, which hasbeen regarded for many centuries as the largest religious andcultural center in Russia. Here you can see examples of the work ofthe great masters of religious icons displayed in the churches andmonasteries. During our stay in Moscow, our Tour Director will showus a Hidden Treasure of this intriguing and fascinating city. Onour final night we enjoy a Farewell Dinner with our Tour Directorand fellow travelers in a local restaurant to celebrate the end ofour tour. (Buffet breakfast / Buffet breakfast / Farewell dinner)
Day 9 - Moscow - USA
This morning we bid farewell to our Tour Director and travelingcompanions as our vacation comes to an end. Airport transfers areavailable, conditions apply. (Buffet breakfast)

9 or more: If 9 or more people travel together, we offer attractive group discounts based on how many people travel. In a group of 9 passengers, 1 traveller qualifies for a 50% discount off the LAND-only portion of the tour. In a group of 16 passengers, 1 traveller qualifies for 100% discount off the LAND-only portion of the tour.
Please note: Space is limited to one group per motorcoach. When travelling alone, we understand that some clients do not want to incur the expense of an additional single room supplement. With this in mind, on the majority of our itineraries, Trafalgar offers you the opportunity to purchase these tours on a room-sharing basis. We will accommodate you with a fellow passenger of the same gender on a ‘two-bedded’ basis (non-smoking rooms only). Please note that, regrettably, we cannot guarantee that room mates will be of a similar age group. Even so, it is an enjoyable way to travel and get to make new friends, and a positive way to stretch your holiday budget. If we fail to match you, we will provide a single room at no extra cost.
